About me: Proud daughter of Mexican immigrants who once worked in the fields of Fresno, CA, seeking the American Dream. Once labeled an “at-risk youth,” I navigated my way through continuation high school and found my calling in community college by organizing students to advocate for access, quality, and affordability in California’s higher education system. I transformed my anger into activism, realizing the profound importance of participating in the political process and creating access to and through government systems – it is the calling that inspired my last 23+ years of work.
